Laknavaram Lake

Laknavaram Lake is also known as Laknavaram Cheruvu, It is set amidst the densce forest and huge green hills at a distance of about 72 km from the city of warangal Rural.

The Lake was discovered in an era of Kakatiya Dynasty. Kakatiya rulers understood the importance of this place set amidst forest and huge hills lined up around to hold the rainwater at the same moment and built a small gate, which turned the place into a huge lake. The lake is responsible for irrigation of the area by providing water to thousands of acres of land.

The lake is surrounded by the Etunagaram Sanctuary, which enhances its beauty more. Hugeness of the lake can be understood from the fact that it has 13 islands scattered amidst the dense forest.
