Kondagattu Hanuman Temple is one of the ancient Temples of Telangana State in Karimnagar district. Telangana history abound in legends and anecdotes. One such legend is also associated with the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple Kondagattu. It is believed that around 300 years ago a group of shepherds led by Singala Swamiji discovered the statue of Anjaneya.
Singala Swamiji built a temple for lord. This Hanuman temple however found its present shape in the hands of Krishna Rao Deshmukh who renovated and restored the temple structure. The temple is a revered site in Telangana region.
Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple is believed that if a woman prays at the temple for 41 days, she will surely be blessed with a child. So that any woman desiring a child will definitely come to this ancient temple in Karimnagar to seek the blessings of their revered lord. This temple popularly called as "Kondagattu Anjaneya Temple". There is a "Dharmagundam" where devotes take bath. It always gets packed with Hanuman devotees to its full capacity during Hanuman Jayanthi.
Generally many of Telangana Youth perform "Hanuman Deekksha Mala" for a period of 41 days during Hanuman Jayanthi and visit Kondagattu Hanuman Temple by walk. The Deeksha mala gets over on the day od Hanuman Jayanthi. it is believed that more than 5 lakh people visit this Temple during Hanuman Jayanthi.
